Artemis Fowl and the Eternity Code by Eoin Colfer is the third book in the Artemis Fowl series which is about a young Boy, Artemis Fowl, who discovered a group of armed and dangerous fairies living under their feet, you have to read the first two books to find out more. Artemis Fowl had rescued his father in the last book and plans on continuing to earn profits for the fowl business and legacy however, his father plans on turning over a new leaf.
This book starts off with Artemis making a deal with John Spiro a rich and dangerous businessman, for some modified fairy technology he calls the c-cube. But in a twist of events, John ends up stealing the technology and his bodyguard ends up shooting Butler just under his heart leaving Artemis with a few seconds to come up with a plan to save his old friend. There is no possible way that human technology could save him, but fairy tech might just do the trick.
Artemis manages to call LEP captain Holly Short just in the nick of time to save Domovoi Butler! But the more important matter at hand is how to steal back the c-cube from John Spiro, who knows what will happen to the People if he gets his hands on fairy technology?
What master plot will Artemis execute to rescue the c-cube from the clutches of the evil businessman? Will John ever be able to crack the eternity Code? With the help of Foally, Mulch Diggums, Holly Short, Commander Root and Juliet Butler Artemis Fowl cracks through one of his most dangerous master plans yet! Will Artemis save the technology and keep Haven a secret or will it be exposed to the greedy world of mud people?
A suspenseful plot that keeps you biting your nails tills the very last chapter. Along with the help of Fairy people, Artemis must fulfil his end of the deal, having a mind wipe of all fairy memories, along with his friendships and conscience.
This book has been even more exciting than the last! Artemis Fowl and the Eternity code had gotten me biting my fingernails, gaping laughing and frowning all in one chapter. I feel this book really contributes to the series as this is where Artemis goes through some of his biggest and most important stages or character development, making good lasting friendships with the fairy people and losing his cold and hurtful attitude he had when he first wanted to kidnap Captain Holly short in the first book.
Eoin Colfer has done a wonderful job, creating so many new types of fairy gadgets and next-generation technology which even scientist must not have thought of! The plot in the third book in the series is like the head starts for the new and dangerous adventure these friends are going to go on in the future.
“I am that male. Artemis the hunter. I hunted you.”
Artemis likes to make his mark, even though he has become more open and friendlier, he still has that criminal spark inside him which allows him to crack these ingenious master plans and witty remarks. He never likes to one-upped by anyone, he will, slowly but surely get his revenge if it is the last thing he does. He, after all, is the only boy to know about Haven, talks in fluent Gnowmish and has obtained fairy gold.
Artemis Fowl is a unique character who is both hostile, genius and sly as well as caring, funny( in his own way) and a true friend. However, after all this character development Artemis must keep his end of the deal, in return for the fairies help, Artemis agrees to a memory wipe…
